850°C Glow Wire Test at Our Factory

In preparation for the test, the sample is fixed in place and a thin cotton cloth or paper is placed directly under the sample. If ignition occurs, measurements are made by recording notes regarding the ignition start time, duration, flame height and, in the event of a drip, whether the drops ignite the paper fibers.

Glow wire requirements are specified in IEC 60335-1. However, the actual glow wire test methodology and procedure is covered in the IEC 60695-2 series specifications.

The product can catch fire at 850°C, but droplets from the product should not burn the thin paper underneath. Dripping drops should not harm the environment or catch fire when dropped. As you can see in the video, a product is tested with our fully automatic test machine and compliance with high quality standards in accordance with European standards is ensured.
